Happy Saturday! We’re headed to our rental house to do a little work. But first, I just wanted to say thank you for all your sweet and encouraging comments and dm’s about our budget friendly bathroom refresh and loving your home posts! I feel the fog has lifted and the desire to be thrifty and creative is flowing out of me like it used to before I cared how many “likes” I would get! Hopefully this feeling will continue!
The outside of the house is getting a little facelift (a.k.a. painted), so no cute fall patio and lots of pumpkins for me this year. But I’m perfectly okay with it because I know how much we’re going to enjoy the improvements we’re making to our little farmhouse down the road. Also... there’s no room left in the budget for pumpkins this year.
Sunday morning mood over here. ☕️ How are you all doing? We are still in vacation mode over here after a week away in Palm Springs with our best friends. It was such an amazing week, filled with fun and relaxation! It’s always nice coming home to our cozy little cottage although I’m a little bit anxious about getting back into the regular routine tomorrow! Also - my 3 year old obviously isn’t reading this book but it’s sure cute watching him pretend!
This room..is one of my favorite rooms in our house, and unfortunately is the most unused. It’s been sitting for 4 1/2 years, waiting for a purpose. We have worked on it here and there..new flooring, new paint, adding curtains, etc..but for the most part we’ve just let it sit and essentially become a storage room/drop zone. I decided it was time to finally make this room a happy and useful space for us ❤️ it’s been much needed to get this room cleaned up and put together..and as much I hope to give it another purpose someday soon, in the meantime I’m excited to finally make it a pretty space at least! These pieces were some of my “drop zone” pieces that were just sitting in here, and luckily with a little organizing this stuff actually created a cute little corner! This desk was a roadside find (free of course!), and the antique mirror, chippy white chair, and olive tree topiaries were all thrift store finds

I’ve had my share of ups and downs on here. The frustration, the comparison, the doubt I’ve all felt. I’ve had to step back and evaluate my motives more than once. But through it all, I want to thank you all for what beauty comes from here. The kindness and community. There is a genuine nature to a lot of you. And friendships that have grown from this experience opening up my home and heart to sharing. Uniting people with the same hobbies, likes, or talents. IG can act as a dating sight for friendships of sorts. There is a BIG community of you all and I’m sure glad I’m apart of it. In my stories today I shared what one of those friends, my friend Debra @vintagecrushin surprised me with today out of the kindness of her heart. I can not thank her enough it blows me away. If you have found a few of those friends on here, tag them I’m sure they would love the acknowledgement.
Im getting the urge to change things up in this room. Nothing major but Im just craving some change here. Im trying to make a decision about the nightstands (and Id love your input about that in my stories), but for now I made some simple changes to the bedding. I shopped my own home for these pillows, and then I added this Moroccan pompom blanket from @majoreldesign
